Speaker National Assembly of Kuwait meets with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq

Islamabad: May 12, 2015; Speaker National Assembly of Kuwait Mr. Marzouq Ali M. Al-Ghanim called on Speaker, National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House, today. Wide range of issues including enhancing parliamentary and economic ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, current situation of the Islamic World and their problems came under discussion.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq while welcoming the visiting delegation said that this visit of Kuwaiti Parliamentary delegation would prove a landmark in further strengthening existing bilateral relations and to bring both the brotherly countries more closer. He said that Pakistan give immense importance to its relations with Kuwait since both the nations were intertwined in eternal bonds of religion, brotherhood and culture.
 
The Speaker said that the bonds of brotherhood could further be cemented through parliamentary friendship. He was confident that during the meetings between the Pak-Kuwaiti parliamentarians, both the sides would exchange views, share experiences and explore further possibilities of parliamentary as well as economic cooperation. He further said that both the brotherly countries are rich in natural resources which can be exploited through joint ventures for the benefit of both the nations.
 
The Speaker National Assembly said that government is determined to exterminate militancy and extremism from the country and all political forces in the Parliament are behind this national cause. The government and all its institutions would not allow anyone to subvert its determination, he added.

While discussing the issue of Yemen, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the need for a peaceful solution to the Yemen conflict but did voice their concern on the overthrow of a legitimate government in Yemen. He termed the situation in Yemen as “grave,” and cautioned that the crisis might endanger unity of the Muslim Ummah in addition to having implications for the whole region.

Appreciating the hospitality, affection and brotherhood of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly of Kuwait Mr. Marzouq Ali M. Al-Ghanim termed relations between the two sides as historic and unique. He appreciated the kind remarks of the Speaker and said that Kuwait considers Pakistan as its brother and wants to further cement the ties through rejuvenating parliamentary contacts and exploring possible avenues of economic cooperation. He said that Pakistani expatriates in Kuwait are playing an important role in economic activity in the country. He said that Kuwait would encourage Pakistani specialist in different fields as well as skilled human resource in diverse sectors.

He said that Kuwait strongly desires to see a prosperous, stable and economically vibrant Pakistan. The Speaker also expressed that Kuwait will extend all-out support to Pakistan in diverse fields. He said that Kuwait would always stand by its Pakistani brethren whenever needed. On this occasion, members of the Kuwaiti delegation and MNAs from Pakistan were also present during the call on. Earlier Kuwaiti Speaker planted sapling Magnolia Grandiflora at Parliament House. The Kuwaiti delegation also witnessed the proceedings of the Senate of Pakistan. The Guest Speaker also signed the visitor book of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
