Islamabad; March 25, 2015: The Finance Committee of the National Assembly met under the chairmanship of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker National Assembly in Parliament House, today.

The Committee approved the proposed budget of the National Assembly Secretariat for the fiscal year 2015-2016 amounting to Rs.2,997,077,000/-. The Committee was informed that there was no variation between the revised estimates and sanctioned budget for the year 2014-2015.

The committee appreciated the prudent leadership of the Speaker for initiating austerity measures in the National Assembly Secretariat after assuming the office of Speaker.

The Committee was also briefed about the ongoing preparation of the 61st Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference to be held in September-October this year. The Speaker said that it would be an honour for the Parliament of Pakistan to hold such Conference which would be attended by the Presiding Officers and the delegates of Commonwealth Legislatures. He was of the view that such Parliamentary moot would help the foreign parliamentarians to see the democratic, progressive and peaceful Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by MNAs Ch. Armaghan Subhani, Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas, Malik Ihtbar Khan, Sardar Muhammad Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Mian Abdul Manan, Secretary National Assembly Secretariat, Additional Secretary M/o Finance and other senior officers of the National Assembly Secretariat.
