Vice President Of The German Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation Calls On Speaker National Assembly

Islamabad February 11, 2015: Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, Vice President of the German Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation (KAS) called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House this afternoon.

Talking to Dr. Wahlers, the Speaker said that National Assembly greatly values Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation’s support for being one of its development partner achieving the goals set forth in the strategic plan of the National Assembly of Pakistan.

The Speaker apprised the visiting dignitary about the initiation of Parliamentary studies courses in Public and Private sector universities. He termed it another feather in cap of the incumbent Parliament. He was confident that introduction of this course will go a long way in educating the youth about the tolerant and democratic values of the Parliamentary form of government.

Talking about the time immemorial bilateral relations with Germany, the Speaker said that Germany and Pakistan share commonalities of views and has always been supportive of each other on different forums. He said that both the sides strongly desire to strengthen the existing relations through reinvigorating parliamentary linkages. He said that Parliamentarians could play a vital role in that regard through Parliamentary Friendship groups in both the Parliaments.

Dr. Gerhard Wahlers thanked the Speaker for his remarks, saying that his organization was privileged to be part of Parliament’s initiative. He assured his organization’s unwavering support in that regard. He agreed that Parliamentarians of both the countries could bring both the nations more closer. He appreciated the launch of Parliamentary Studies program.
