Speaker NA, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq ratifys a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Corp., Pakistan

National Assembly, September 19th, 2014: National Assembly Secretariat accomplished another Milestone, in its strategic agenda spearheaded by the Honourable Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, by ratifying a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Corp Pakistan. The MoU was mutually signed by Secretary National Assembly, Muhammad Riaz and CEO, Mitsubishi,  Kimhide Ando San via which Mitsubishi Corporation has sanctioned financial assistance for the energy rehabilitation and conservation at Parliament House.

Honourable Speaker, whilst addressing the participants at the ratification ceremony, appreciated the efforts of  Ando san both personal and professional, towards supporting Pakistan and its Parliament.  Mr. Speaker highlighted that it was first time in the history of Parliament House a comprehensive energy audit has been carried out, revealing insights into the many inefficiencies of the installations resulting in wastage of crucial resources manifesting in burdening  the National Exchequer.

Based on the audit, a rehabilitation plan has been designed  to decrease the input energy upto 50% of the current level while increasing the efficiency of the system to 90% from current level 30%. Ando San also reiterated his commitment of working with all key stakeholders towards strengthening the Parliament and democracy in the Pakistan. He said that Mitsubishi Pakistan will continue to contribute towards the social development and welfare of the country under the umbrella of its CSR policy.  He also recognised and appreciated efforts by the  Honourable Speaker for energy conservation in view of the current condition. Kenzo Iijima, General Manager, and Imran Mirza, Assistant General Manager from Mitsubishi and MNA Marriyum Aurangzeb along with senior secretariat staff were also present during the signing ceremony.
