High Commissioner-Designate to United Kingdom calls on NA Speaker

Islamabad September 9, 2014: Pakistan’s High Commissioner-designate to United Kingdom Syed Ibn-e-Abbas called on Speaker, National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House, this afternoon.
 
 
Talking to the High Commissioner-designate, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan attaches immense importance to its relations with United Kingdom and wants to further reinforce them through escalating parliamentary and trade relations as well as people-to-people contacts. He said that UK has a huge Pakistani Diaspora which is settled there since decades. They are working in every sector and provide huge revenue through the remittances they send back to Pakistan. The Speaker directed the High Commissioner to engage the Pakistani community settled in UK and guide them about the latent business and trade opportunities that Britain offers.
 
He said the after assuming his charge, he should establish close liaison with United Kingdom’s political hierarchy, business community and Pakistani expatriates settled in UK for further consolidation of Pakistan-UK relations.
 
The Ambassador-designate Syed Ibn-e-Abbas assured the Speaker that enhancing Pakistan’s trade with Britain will be his top priority and for that end he will keep a constant liaison with the Pakistani community in Britain. He also assured that he would meet UK political and diplomatic hierarchy after assuming his charge and discuss ways and means to strengthen Pakistan’s relations with UK
