Ambassador of Romania calls on NA Speaker

Islamabad; August 7, 2014: Ambassador of Romania Mr. Emilian Ion called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the Parliament House, today.

Talking to the Ambassador, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan values high its relations with Romania since both the countries have the same views and perceptions about global issues. He said that Pakistan understands the rising importance of Romania as a significant European country. It has strong bilateral relations with Romania in economic, educational, political and cultural fields and wants these relations stronger. He also thanked Romania for its support in European Union in attaining GSP+.
 
The Speaker said that both the countries can enhance parliamentary cooperation besides cooperation in economic and social sectors through greater exchange of delegations. He informed the Ambassador about activation of Pakistan-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group in National Assembly of Pakistan. He invited Romanian Speaker to visit Pakistan. He said that bilateral relations between both the Parliaments would strengthen by his visit to Pakistan.
 
The Ambassador Mr. Emilian Ion said that Romania also values its relations with Pakistan and wants to strengthen them through cooperation in diverse sectors. He appreciated Pakistan’s economic performance and underlined the need for closer cooperation in economic and trade sectors between the two countries. He underlined the need for frequent exchanges of Parliamentary delegations for promotion of greater cooperation between the two countries. He also conveyed good wishes of Romanian Speaker and invitation to Speaker National Assembly to visit Romania.
