The Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency, Mr. Sun Weidong Met Parliamentary Committee on CPEC
Islamabad, December 2nd: Ambassador of China, His Excellency, Mr. Sun Weidong met today with the Parliamentary Committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He discussed different projects of CPEC with the Committee. He assured that China would fulfill all its responsibilities to complete this project on time. The prosperity of Pakistan’s people is the prosperity of Chinese people. Pakistan and China have deep rooted and very long lasting friendship. He further explained that China Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring peace and prosperity in the region. The CPEC will bring China and Pakistan more close. It will play pivotal role among neighboring countries in the process of development.
The Chairman, Parliamentary Committee on CPEC, Mr. Mushahid Hussain Sayed briefed about his recent visit to Gwadar related to CPEC projects as well as the inspection of Western Route of the Corridor. He informed His Excellency that the work on the project was in full swing. The Chairman stated that there were certain concerns of the local people of Gwadar that needs full attention, especially the water, electric, fish harbor and the social sector projects. The Government of China should also take interest to have a project of bullet train from Karachi to Gwadar. The CPEC is a nation’s project and it is for the betterment of both the nations, he said. He further added that CPEC would help to make the Federation of Pakistan more strong.
